Meterman Fuses & Fuse-to-Meter Selector Guide


The Meterman brand of digital multi-meters includes not only meters offered strictly under the Meterman brand name but also meters branded as: Beckman, Beckman-Wavetek, Beckman-Meterman, Wavetek and Wavetek-Meterman digital multi-meters. Not only could a Meterman meter have been sold under any one of six diffrent brands, the same model number may have appeared with more than one brand name depending upon date of sale.

Fortunately, as Wavetek acquired Beckman's meters, and as Meterman acquired Wavetek, the replacement fuses required by each model number did not change. However as each manufacturer expanded or introduced new meters to a product family, the fuses choosen for new product introductions often differed from the previous manufacturer's as each manufacturer strived to standardize on their own set of fuse values. Thus the XT and XL Series meters, for example, do not use a common set of fuses.

You must choose the correct replacement fuse based on your specific meter. Do not assume that all meters within a product family share the same set of fuses: They do not!
