Pomona Electronics IC Test Clips


Uniquely designed for testing surface mount devices easily, securely and successfully, Pomona Electronics IC Test Clips are the innovative solution for your chip. Whether connecting to low-profile fine-pitch chips, densely populated boards or vertical boards, these IC test clips will connect you with confidence.

DIP test clips provide fast, reliable and secure connections to socketed and through-hole DIP chips. Available in two styles, DIP test clips give you the option of full coverage of clip contacts for maximum durability or open contacts at the board level for easier access to chip leads.

Pomona Electronics low-cost Quad Clips quickly lock onto J-leaded PLCCs, providing easy access for testing surface-mounted devices. Plastic Leaded Chip Carriers (PLCC) test clips attach to PLCC chips with a sliding cam that clamps onto the chip body. Access to chip leads is provided by 0.025 inch (0.635mm) pins at 0.100 inch (2.54mm) spacing. Available PLCC Quad test clips fit all currently available PLCC chip sizes.

Small Outline Integrated Circuit (SOIC) clip test clips feature a narrow-profile design that makes testing SOIC and SOJ chips on densely-populated boards easier and safer.

Pomona Electronics models 5250, 5251, 5252, 5253, 5254 and 5437 feature spring-loaded SOIC clips that attach to the target chip and hold on with spring pressure against the chip body. Contacts on top of the clip are 0.025 inch (0.635mm) pins at 0.10 inch (2.54mm) spacing. Designed to attach to surface-mounted chips with either gull wing or J leads.

Pomona Electronics model 5413 SOIC test clip is a fourteen-pin (14-pin) clip featuring a slider that presses the contact housings against the chip and provides a more secure connection on surface-mounted chips with gull wing or J leads. Compact design is ideal for testing on densely-populated boards.

Pomona Electronics models 6107, 6108 and 6109 are 32-pin (6107), 40-pin (6108) and 44-pin (6109) SOIC/SOJ test clips have spring-loaded clips featuring double-row 0.025 wire wrap pins for easy connection to ribbon cable. These clips will fit all SOIC/SOJ chips between 0.30 inch (7.62mm) and 0.60 inch (15.24mm) width.
