A Commitment to Our Customers
We understand that security is a primary concern for many of our customers. Making sure that your information stays secure has always been a top priority for TestPath. Our commitment to you is that we will continue to strive to protect your information from theft, hacking or other vulnerabilities both during and after a transaction has been completed.
Our website uses SSL (which stands for "Secure Sockets Layer" technology), the de facto standard for internet security. SSL is an open protocol for secure data communications across computer networks and the Internet. Broad support for this protocol promotes interoperability between products from many organizations.
SSL depends upon an SSL certificate - an electronic "passport" - to authenticate the identity of a website and encrypt information sent to the site using SSL technology. An SSL certificate contains the following information:
- The certificate holder"s name
- The certificate"s serial number and expiration date
- A copy of the certificate holder"s public encryption key
- The digital signature of the certificate-issuing authority
Encryption is the process of scrambling data using the public SSL certificate key into an undecipherable format that can only be returned to a readable format with a private decryption key.
When an Internet user attempts to send confidential information to a Web server, the user"s browser accesses the TestPaths SSL certificate and validates the certificate using Certification Revocation Lists or the Online Certificate Status Protocol. The web browser then establishes a secure connection.
TestPath uses the most secure SSL certificate available: an Extended Validation Certificate that utilizes a 2048-bit encryption key and 256-bit encryption - considered to be uncrackable until at least 2030. Extended Validation means that the issuing authority validates domain ownership and verifies the overall legitimacy of the business through an extensive ~30-day vetting process not required for standard SSL certificates.
Secure pages (E.g., check out pages), on websites using Premium Extended Validation (EV) certificates, are displayed differently in the new generation of Web browsers. Secure pages on EV SSL sites will display in the color green to the left of the address window a padlock symbol followed by the site owner's name. Modern browsers will display additional information about the site if you click on the information displayed in green as an additional security measure.
Finally, at the bottom of every page on the TestPath site there is a link to our SSL certificate as an additional guard against phishing and other forms of hacking.Protecting Your Information
Access to the personal information that you provide and we store is password protected and access to passwords is limited. Encryption of stored data follows industry best practices (E.g., passwords hashed and salted) and meets all credit card industry standards as well as all state and federal requirements.
In order to make sure your information is secure, TestPath has partnered with Go Daddy - the largest URL registrar - to scan our site daily to verify security. At the bottom of every page Go Daddy's site secure seal is displayed with the date of the most recent scan.
Finally, TestPath only stores your credit card information as long as it takes to process the initial sales order. Credit card information is then securely deleted not only from our web servers but also from our accounting systems.
